The salon has added 2,000 more square feet and remodeled the space to capture a modern Asian feel. The new space is dedicated to additional waxing services, manicure and pedicure options, new cosmetic and skincare lines, jewelry, and hair services.Salon Biyoshi, owned by stylists Mary and Brandon Harris and Nancy and David Watkins, claimed the space next to their current location, making its new size 4,000 square feet of hip, stylish space. In an effort to always provide superior service, Salon Biyoshi is the first salon in Knoxville to install Peter Millard Lighting, a new line of lighting for professional colorists that allows them to see the accuracy of the color. The lighting system was created by partnering with LED specialists with the goal of developing a lighting system that can serve as an extremely accurate color evaluation tool. Creator Peter Millard came to the salon himself to install the system and design the entire expansion. The lighting system is cool and comfortable to work under and emits only 20% of the heat associated with halogens and incandescents. It also uses only 20% of the energy, therefore reducing electricity use.
“As the only place in Knoxville with the Peter Millard Lighting System, I know our customers will benefit greatly by getting the most on target color results imaginable,” said owner Brandon Harris. “Our expanded space allows us to offer so many amazing products and services, and we’re so excited to share this with our patrons!”In January co-owner Mary Harris attended the 2013 Redken Ultimate Chromatics Haircolor Contest and was chosen as the winner in the Avant-Garde Look category for a style she created. Another Salon Biyoshi team member, Donna Edmondson, was asked to be a hair stylist on Taylor Swift’s Red Tour 2013. Brandon Harris had been nominated twice for the Knoxville Chamber Pinnacle Award for young entrepreneur, and the salon has been nominated twice for the best small business award by the Knoxville News Sentinel. Salon Biyoshihas contributed immensely to the community thorough its charitable efforts, with a total of 31 groups and agencies supported in 2012 alone. Some of the agencies include the East Tennessee Epilepsy Foundation, the Akima Club grant program, and the Dogwood Arts Festival.
Salon Biyoshi has Master Stylists, Redken Color Certified Stylists, and Pureartists on staff. The salon also offers a full line of Mirabella cosmetics, Rodan and Fields skin care system, and Redken and Pureology hair care products. A new colorbar is an exciting focal point in the salon and the Peter Millard Lighting ensures customers will be delighted with their results. For more information please visit www.salonbiyoshi.com.
