Barrier Reef Designs a big hit

What is the most important lesson you’ve learned about building a brand?
It takes a LOT of time and tenacity.

--What is the most important lesson life has taught you thus far?
You have to do your best to make your dreams come true because, even if they don't come to fruition, you'll be able to look back and know that you tried. The tragedy is not to fail but not to have tried.
 
--How do you see your career evolving in the near future?
I would love it if a larger company recognized Barrier Reef's potential and bought or invested in the company.

--What is your advice for those who want to start their own brand?
Do your research, but don't overdo it because, if people really knew how difficult it was to start a business, nothing would ever get done!
 
--What has been the most challenging aspect of starting the brand?
I always thought that if a product was beautiful and unique, people would flock to it. I never took into account that most retail buyers stick to the "tried and true" and are reluctant to invest in an unknown. Also, some women are convinced they can only wear beige, black, or white, and they need to see how  resplendent they look in bright colors.

--Who or what do you look to for your inspiration?
Underwater, at the beautiful tropical fish swimming in the coral reefs of the world.

--Has the success been overwhelming to you?
[Ha! Ask me when I've really succeeded!]
