Rene Furterer: Red carpet 101 with Joshua Miles Ristaino

Currently on a global tour to promote her buzzed-about dramedy, “The Beaver,” which she directed, produced and starred in, Jodie Foster made her first stop on the red carpet at the NYC premiere at the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Celebrity stylist Joshua-Myles Ristaino of Exclusive Artists Management, Jodie’s go-to stylist during her national media tour, prepped the actress for her evening in the spotlight.

The style that carried Jodie from New York to Cannes and beyond: an effortless take on the classic, shiny bob that captures both Jodie’s sophistication and playful charm. Here’s how Joshua-Myles got the look.

A Sexy Bob for Jodie Foster

“Jodie wanted to glam up her medium-length cut with a more textured look,” says Joshua-Myles. “Jodie has fine and delicate hair, so I was careful not to weigh it down with too much product.”

« Starting with slightly damp hair, I applied René Furterer TONUCIA No rinse densifying mousse. Its lightweight texture isn’t one bit sticky! Wheat micro-proteins in the foam help to thicken each strand from roots to ends.

«  Using a classic Mason Pearson natural boar bristle brush, I gave Jodie’s hair a blowout, directing hair up and off the scalp to create texture.

«  To lock in the shape and boost shine, I finished with a blast of cool air throughout the hair.

«  Next, I sprayed Jodie’s silky bob with Klorane Gentle dry shampoo with oatmilk to add thickness, and then lightly tousled her hair to give it a slightly piece-y texture.

«  A final spritz of René Furterer VEGETAL FINISHING SPRAY prevented any fly-aways. Jodie was ready to WOW her fans on the red carpet!
